there is a loading page where it shows a 'Empty-full' meter. White the page loads, the meter will follow from empty(0%) to full(100%)

it is a very interactive website which caught my attention. I like the olden days feel, where the gas station has those kind of pumps. and the signboard as well.

this website is for weddings. Its so beautiful with the flowery background and even a flower based header. I also like the font they used because it suits the theme so well.

 with every scene, they have an audio for that country. I think there at least 7 scenes for this website and all of them are just so beautiful. The horses can move, the drawing looks so real, It looks like a painting. The arrows are the ones that lead into different countries.

 You can even see the cylinder changing form to suit that place/country. Like the one above is Tokyo, Japan. Now that tokyo is growing with their technology, they designed it to suit the modern place with Japanese writings on the board and even in the background shops.

 this website caught my attention because of the simple designs they used and also becasue it was a very cute idea.

 Its a design of a tree that has a very very very long trunk that has links to other websites.

at the end of the tree, theres a really cute panda peeking out from the trunk.

This is a website full of textures. I think its a website that celebrates something named praurie fest. Not too sure but it has a picture of an event and dates scheduled for an event.

 Overall, it's a nice website to look at. It looks very 'friendly'

so i was searching through google on tutorials for website designs and found this really amazing websites that gave a lot of options on different kind of designs

the design that caught my eye was this. It looks very elegant and posh. And also because white is one of my favorite colors. This website teaches the ways to do what was shown exactly using photoshop.

This tutorial goes on for 7 pages which is long but of course for a nice layout.

i love the idea of the book design. Imagining of the website i create can flip pages using flash...wow!!
But i'm still planning on the topic to design on.

How I spent my semester break

During my 1 month sem break, I got my first job as a designer by ___ from Singapore to help with a company called Ezzoled / Ezzogenics. I was given the task to do a variety of things, from brochures to stickers. It was challenging but it gave me a lot of new experience with working.

Cadbury bookmark with die cut. Illustrated everything. Super fun to do. The bleeding was challenging because i had to get 3mm for everything. Hope i get good marks for this :)

First game design

 

this is the loading page to the game. The title of this game is "The Vamp-gical Forest". While the creature walks on top of the loading bar, The logo moves togerther with the movement of the creature.

The story is about a boy that went to sleep and gone into a dream. While he was in the dream, he had to complete a few obstacles to complete his mission.

instructions are given while playing the game to understand the full functions and task given.

added more space between inventory side and life bar. Used a font downloaded from dafont.com

 

The boy takes the feather from the creature, then falls into a hole and meets a bat who lost its wing. The boy helps the bat by matching the wings on the balancing scale. While matching the wings, feathers are found on the cabinet. collecting it and the others will complete the game.

Had fun designing and illustrating this game. Was challenging but had some fun while doing it.

small little rant

i'm so stressed. It's always supposed to be fun during CNY but this year its just stressful. I can't get my head on right. There's so much assignments and i have to complete all of them before holiday ends. Whats that about. I'll never be able to enjoy my holidays. The days i have left anyway. I'm done with 2.5 out of 4. hope i can be able to finish them before the due date.

listing all of the things i need to get done is actually not much. the most stressing for me is photography coz i can never get a nice setting. need to learn more about taking freeze motion pictures. need to get nice settings. wanna take something dropping into a glass 'something'. depth of field photography is alright. again the same problem, cant find a nice scenery to capture. im getting a laser light for light painting. cross my fingers and hope it'll work out.

perspective and background is easy. no worries. i have it all under control.

one week of holiday from college...wooo, but I got a feeling that lecturer will give assignments
hope I'll still be able to enjoy my holidays with my cousins

   super easy to complete but i don't have the screen resolution that big for the assignment, have to complete it

- 50 usable shots (any ideas about extreme expressions?!!?)

short post. have to finish perspective drawing before going to sleep. I cant believe I have classes on a Saturday. SATURDAY!!!!!!!! *sigh*

10 things to describe myself (metaphor)

1. I'm like a thermometer. It'll only reach the highest point when its hot enough. I don't get angry fast. But I used to get angry very fast. I guess I've learned to be more patient. But i can still get very angry when something goes very very wrong.

2. I'm like a bottle of water. The water inside the bottle is fine when the cover is closed, but once opened and tilted, the water comes rushing out.
When someone breaks my comfort zone , I cry easily. But when no one makes me sad, I'm always fine.

3. I'm like an air cond. When it's switched on, it takes time for it to reach the temperature wanted.
I need to take time to settle into places before I start socializing.

4. I'm like a straight road. People have told me that i'm very straight-forward and I can't differentiate if its a joke or not.

5. I'm like a broken GPS. My road direction is horrible. If you ask me to drive somewhere that is not familiar to me, I wont even try driving to that destination coz I'm scared that I'll get lost.

6. Recently, i feel like a baby. I eat and sleep so much forgetting about assignments that I must complete.

7. I'm like a house phone. It can only call, receive call and receive voice mail. It's functions are limited. I'm not a perfect person, there is only so much I can do. If you ask me to do something I'm not capable of, It's impossible for me to even try.

8. I'm like a computer. The more you download stuff in it, the more the computer functions. I'm still learning in life, getting information about what is right and wrong. And when I have learned enough, I will make good use of life lessons.

9. Like a coffee machine that can only be functional with Nestle coffee capsule and nothing else, Im a picky eater. I eat tons but only the things that i like. As a chinese, well, not all chinese do eat it but alot. They eat like "everything" from a pig. I only eat the meat of the pig and nothing else. I dont eat a few kind of fish (eg. salmon). I don't eat chili but i like curry. I don't like to eat vegetables but I guess I can if I have to. And I never eat curry fish. I guess the combination to me is funny.

10. I'm like an umbrella waiting to be used. I love the rain.

A Little About College Life

Starting a new blog in year 2012. Life is changing for me as a person. I've learnt to be more understanding towards others. I've learnt to be more careful when I'm driving. I've learnt to do something to the fullest.
When i started college, I was so scared i couldn't make friends because I've only been to one school from primary to High School. Friends that I knew were all from when I'm young. Living in Subang, learning that i have to be more independent was hard. I have to admit that i even cried thinking that i wouldn't be able to make friends in college. My hometown friends were there to cheer me up, I'm truly grateful for them.

When i started college last May, i was very nervous. Oh, forgot to mention, i enrolled into The One Academy after much research. I was going to IACT but i ended up in TOA, so yea...
So in my first class, i guess nothing much happened. It was a combined class so i didn't know who was my classmates. So i just sat there listening to the lecturer giving his first lesson to us. The lecturer that came in was funny at first sight with his beard but he's okay.

Second lesson came and it was drawing class, I had a hometown friend in the same class, but we weren't that close back then. But because we didn't know anyone and we were from the same "kampung", we talked to each other. And then I started to lean my classmates names. The first group of people i met was Sean, Jane and Frieda. THEY ARE AWESOME!!!!! well, but back in the first lesson, we only talked like 1-2 sentences to each other.

Days passed and we started to get to know each other more. I learnt that all of them were going to major in Digital Animation. One thing that I can still remember is that they say i use the word "seriously" alot.

Weeks passed and the whole class was so close, but in like everywhere, there will always be groups. And i guess there was 3 groups in our class. The Banana Group (I'm in that), Chinese Group and The Quiet Group. It was super fun in my first semester class.

And then when semester was over, we planned a BBQ PARTY in Jane's home area. It was a fun time remembering back. Bacon and Smores, Yum~~~

So second semester was going to start and i had to decide on what major i was going to pick. When i started college, it was because of Graphic Design but i learned so many new things in TOA that it confused me a little. I was deciding on AD or MM. To cut the story short, i went into MM (multimedia). Learned to draw portraits (i had fun in that class), learned to paint (it was fun but i think painting is not my strongest point), learned alot more but i think drawing and painting was the most fun out of all of the subjects.

Now i'm in my third semester and the real lessons on being a MM designer is starting. I don't know if i made the right decision by majoring in MM, but so far, i'm enjoying it. Learning how to use a DSLR, designing icons and perspective drawing. Its stressful but its fun learning. Now i have to get back on doing assignments.
